Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello friends! Happy Thanksgiving to all my American people. I love Thanksgiving, it was the first holiday I celebrated since I arrived to the states, in my native country we don't celebrate it, so it makes it more special!!

Anyway, this year I decided to give cards to my closets friends and family, I always plan to do that, but it almost never happens. So, the other day I was getting ready to go to bed, and a wonderful idea came to my mind, I decided to turn around and go to the craft room and execute my idea and I am so glad I did!

This is a set set of 8, all of them very similar in design.

Here are the steps:
  • Create card bases from Kraft Cardstock. A2 size.
  • Cut panels from Gold cardstock 4" x 5.25".
  • Cut panels from watercolor paper 3.75" x 5", mix Ultramarine Blue Color Burst with water, spritz your watercolor paper with a brush  and then paint the wanted area.
    • I added crystal salt to my all my painted piece, let them sit for 10 minutes and then removed them, I thought I would get a tiny spot, but I got like water marks, love it!!
  • To create the leaves. Mist a big piece of watercolor paper, add Alizarin crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Lemon Yellow and Pthalo Green Color Burst, let t dry, mist the paper with more water if you want to low the intense of the colors. Set aside to dry.
  • Die-cut all leaves .
  • Stamp sentiment and feather from Grateful set. Adhere leaves , twine ribbon and sequins.
  • Add panels to card base.

Hope you like them!
Have a fantastic day!!

Feliz Navidad

Hello friends! How are you doing today? Today, I am doing better (back problem again) and  am staying warm! We got snow on Monday night through Tuesday morning, it was fun, but boy, it was very cold!! The little ones had a lot of fun playing and running in the snow, my daughter loved her time after school playing there too!!

I took this picture from my front door, 2 seconds out, it was cold ;)

Now, let's talk about my project! I have to tell you this turned out a lot better than I expected. I had on my desk this cute set "Eres especial" (You are special), when I saw the little flower I thought that could look really cute on a wreath, so I did!! I took a piece of watercolor paper and 3 tones of green ink (I used Memento Ink), traced a circle and started stamping starting with the lightest of the green colors. Then I took Mustard Seed Distress Ink and added it to the panel, keeping the wreath area a lot lighter in color.
Then, I stamped the "Feliz Navidad" on a piece of white cardstock, then die-cut the banner and stamped the coordinated banner image, added ruby rhinestones and a silver twine bow.

This was an easy and fun card to create.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello friends!! Happy Friday to you all! Have I told you how much I like the Color Burst?! Oh yeah! These powders are like magic, every project is different and the results are amazing! I created this super easy card using Alizarin Crimson Color Burst, this color is beautiful. For this project I got inspired by color combo from The Challenge.

Here are the details:

  • Create a card base from Kraft cardstock.
  • Stamp image from "Merry Christmas Deer" on a piece of white cardstock in Versamark Watermark Ink, add silver embossing powder and heat set.
  • Mist your paper, then sprinkle Alizarin Crimson Color Burst (as much/little as you want, I recommend to start with small amount and then add more if desired), mist your paper a little bit more until you get the effect you want.
  • Let piece dry or speed the process with your heat tool.
  • Add a piece of fabric behind image, add stitches.
  • Add stitched panel to card base. Add a couple of red rhinestones.

And voila!! Love the final product, I will try this technique in different colors, easy to make and flat to mail.

Hope you like it!

Great news to share!!

Hello friends!!! I have super news to share with you! If you are on Facebook you have probably seen it, but if your are not, well I made it to the Ken Oliver Crafts Creative Team! I love playing with Color Burst! I can't wait to share with you more projects, ideas and tutorials!
And here is the picture of the whole team!

And last night I made a quick card, but sadly it was too dark to take pictures, so since the announcement is up, I am sharing my first project as a part of the Creative Team.
This card is super simple, just created the background with Alizarin Crimson, Pthalo Green and Lemon Yellow Color Burst, then I stamped the circle and leaves in dark red ink (they look a lot darker), stamped the little dots in gold and added clear rhinestones. Die-cut the Give Thanks and added to the panel, finally added a jute bow.
All stamps are from Concord & 9th.

Happy B-day!

Hello friends! How are you all doing? Remember I told you about having sinus pressure and pain and such, well I finally got the COLD!! And no I am not happy about it because I usually get the cold/cough combo and since I suffer from asthma makes my situation not fun, but at least the pressure is GONE!! My tissue box is my best friend now.

Ok, so the project I have for you has a little story so I will make it short. I got invited to a birthday party for a sweet boy who I used to babysit, so of course I wanted to make a card for him, but since dealing with the sinus pain I did a little almost nothing of craft fun for almost a month, although I spent few nights coloring images, I colored this image in advance but I didn't have enough time to finish the card (Big BOO) so I bought a little card (HORROR), but this card in in the mail now and I hope he like it!!

He just turned 2 and he is the sweetest boy ever!! And this is the card I made for him (finally finished it) and already mailed! (Yay me)

Here are the details, I got inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch:

  • Make a card base from Light Blue cardstock. A2 size.
  • Cut a panel from white cardstock, 3.75" x 5", cut coordinated pieces from patterned paper and adhere them to white panel. Add panel to card base.
  • Stamp sentiment in StazOn Blue Hawaii ink, the sentiment is from Birthday Boy Set.
  • Stamp image from Super Hero Stanley on white cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black, color image, here I used Spectrum Noir markers, these are the ones I used:
    • Skin: FS1, FS2, FS3
    • Hair: TN1, EB1, EB2, TN3
    • Top and mask: BT1, BT2, BT3
    • Pants: BT5, BT7
    • Cape: BT3, BT4
    • Star and Belt: GB5
    • Shadow: IG2
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil image with rectangle dies. Adhere image to card base with foam adhesive.
  • Die-cut star and number 2 and add it to image.
  • Finally add sequins.
