Hello friends!! Happy Friday to you all!  I had the chance to play with some of the new projects just aired on HSN from Crafter's Companion!

These new flower dies are still available at HSN, so grab them before they are sold out. 

For this project I used the Aster and Wallflower, Assorted Leaves and Stamen Die Sets.

I got this cardboard circle from Hobby Lobby, I painted it using black gesso and white acrylic paint. Then, added the rays using gold embossing paste and a stencil. 

All the flowers were made using crepe paper, love the way they turned out, the flowers get a more realistic shape than using cardstock (in my opinion), the leaves were made using Shimmering green cardstock.

Added ribbon and purple twine to decorate it.

Hello friends!! Happy Wednesday to you all. Today I am sharing with you a cute card with a little bit of Mixed media.  All dies used are from Top Dog Dies.

Here are the details:

• Create a card base from White cardstock. 5.5 " square.
• Cut a piece of blue raspberry cardstock 5" square. Mist piece with Taxi spray, after dries, mix embossing paste and a little bit of tax spray, then using a Rays stencil apply embossing paste. Set aside to dry.
• Die-cut Top Dog Dies Pretty Petals Die in light blue and white cardstock. Paint some of the white flowers with Copper Metallic Paint.
• Die-cut Top Dog Dies Alexa Frame Set Dies in white cardstock, spray it with Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Perls. 
• Die-cut Top Dog Dies Berry Branch Dies in white cardstock and paint them with Moss Metallic Paint.
• Die-cut label from Top Dog Dies Nameplates Die in Sno Cone Cardstock. Stamp sentiment in Jet Black Archival Ink.
• Add pieces to card front. 
• Add sparkle pearls to flower center. Add gold sequins.

From me... to you

Surprising Journey (Picture tutorial)

Hello friends! Hope you are having a fantastic day! Today, I am sharing with you a tutorial I made for eclectic Paperie, I used Twinkling H2O paints, but you can use any kind of paints you own.

Let's get started!

I started with a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper, cut the paper 9" x 9", then taped it to my mat with Blue Tape (painter's tape), the sides are 1" and the top/bottom are .75"

 

 Added a couple of coats of White Acrylic Gesso

 

 

 Then I started painted this piece with Luminarte Twinkling H2O African Jade, just one coat is enough.

 

 

 

 Then I added paint strokes of Luminarte Twinkling H2O Rich Cobalt

 

 

 More strokes of Luminarte Twinkling H2O Hot Cinnamon

 

 

 and some of Twinkling H2O Ginger Peach

 

 

and finally some of Twinkling H2O Olive Vine. 

 

 

I added some Embossing paste using the Mini Chicken Wire reversed Stencil, but honestly I didn't like it, I removed it immediately with a baby wipe, but it left a really cool impression, ha! The things you discover from your mistakes. Then added few dabs using Snow Cap Acrylic Paint Dabber

 

 

 

 I used an old stencil (no longer available, sorry) and White embossing paste in random places.

 

 

Then added White Gelatos in the center and a little bit around the edges,

 

 

Added Black Gelatos around the edges of the whole piece.

 

 

 

Then I took my Remant Rubs - Word (Tim Holtz), cut few pieces and added them on my piece.

 

 

Looks like this :) 

 

 

 

And this is the final piece, without the blue tape, the picture doesn't show how shimmery this piece is, it's really beautiful!! I think I will put it in a picture frame to decorate my craft room :)

Surprising Journey (Picture tutorial)

Hope canvas (Picture Tutorial)

Hello friends!  Hope you are having a fantastic day, I have been a bit quite around here, sorry about that. I am behind the scenes working on some new projects you will see very soon.
Today, I want to show you another picture tutorial I created for eclectic Paperie. I forgot to take few pictures and some didn't turn out good, but I hope you like this one and inspire you to create.

Here are the details (Sorry, I forgot to take few pictures)

• Start by covering your canvas with White Acrylic Gesso, set aside to dry, after it dries, paint your canvas with Pool Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber. I did it a couple of times, then set aside to dry.
• After it dries, takes your Mini Chicken Wire Reversed Stencil and your White Embossing paste and add them to the corners. Set aside to dry.
• While your canvas dries, cut circles from Red Corrugated Paper and leaves from Mint Corrugated Paper (Fancy Pants)

 

•  Paint the leaves and stems with Moss Green 3D Metallic Stamp Paint , this paint dries super quick.

•  Paint all the circles with Ginger Peach Twinkling H2O, set aside to dry, it will take few minutes. (Ohhh, I love this color!)

 

•  Take your Walnut Brown 3D Metallic Stamp Paint, use your fingers (if you don't mind) and add some paint to the edges and around the embossed parts. 

 

• Add your circles, leaves, stems to your canvas with seal glue. Take your Faber Castell Black Big Brush pen and define all edges, then add a button to each center flower, Iwent ahead and wrote "hope" with my black marker.

 

• Paint a Vintage Wood Bird with Copper 3D Stamp Paint and glue it to canvas.

 

This is final product!  I added Gold 3D Stamp Paint to some of the borders, I used my finger since I wanted a rough look.

Hope canvas (Picture Tutorial)

Hello there (Picture tutorial)

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a great day! The germs have visited this residence and we are feeling a bit sick, so since I don't have anything new, I want to share a tutorial I made few weeks ago for eclectic Paperie. This technique is fun!!

Let's get started!

Start with a piece of Distress Watercolor, stamp Joy image (by Catherine Scanlon) in Versamark Watermark ink, apply Seafoam White embossing powder over image and heat set.

Add Blood Orange Gelato over flowers and spread them with the tip of your finger (or sponge)

Mix Acqua Dolce & Banana Gelatos to create a green color, spread all over the leaves, color the center of the image with Banana Gelato. With the help of a baby wipe, remove excess.

Add Gold Gelatos to all the image edges. After that, spray the whole piece with  Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls Mists, set to dry, your piece will shimmer beautifully!

Create a dot background, apply White embossing paste using Fancy Pants Dots Stencil.

This is a very fun part! I wanted a match ribbon for my project, but any of the ribbon I own matched this project, so I decided to create my own!! Super easy!

You need Seam binding ribbon, Blood Orange Gelato and Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls Mists

Color your ribbon with your Blood Orange Gelato, as much or as little you want, then spray your ribbon with Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls Mist!

Click on the picture so you can see all the beautiful shimmery ribbon!!

This is the final result, I put all the pieces together, created a triple bow and added pearls to the flowers! I really love how vibrant these colors are together!

Hello there (Picture tutorial)

Mixed media inserts

Hello friends!! Hope you all are having a great day! Today, I want to show you another mixed media project I created yesterday, this time they are inserts for my Z Becky Brown bag. For this bag I used Ziva Windsor Blue inserts, added Gold Ferro Metallic Effect Paint randomly, set aside to dry, After few minutes I painted the inserts withPool Acrylic Paint (Ranger) and Twinkling H2O -Olive Vine, then masked the inserts with a Ranger Swirl Mask. Finally I stenciled flowers using Embossing Paste, colored the flowers with paint and let it dry.

These inserts were made in about 2 hours, so if I can do it, you can too!! Did I mention that mixed media/coloring/painting is so relaxing? I love it!!

Mixed media inserts

Hey there

Hello friends! Today, I want to share with you a wood-paint piece I created for eclectic Paperie. I had a lot of fun sketching this piece and painting, it was so relaxing, I think I need to do more of this more often. On the other side, I created a big  mess in the craft room, oh well, nothing is perfect, right?

I recently ordered a couple of Luminarte Twinkling H2O and I love them!!  Love playing with new products!

Ok, let me tell you some of the products I used for this project and few details.

• Start with a piece of wood, clean it, sand it and cover it with White Gesso. Set aside and let it dry.
• Paint the sides with Pool Acrylic Paint Dabber, then activate your Luminarte Twinkling H20 Olive Vine shimmer (love it!!) and paint the bottom parts with a brush.
• Now, for this fun part, using your fingers and white gesso, create the clouds.
• Spray the very bottom parts with Dylusions Melted Chocolate Spray.
• Take a little bit of the Dylusions Melted Chocolate Spray from the bottle and a fine paint brush and paint the branches. Rinse your paint brush.
• Add little dots of Luminarte Twinkling H20 Ginger Peach and Olive Vine to the brunches.
• Take you  Olive Vine again, now your mixture is a little bit thick, paint the little valleys and green areas.
• After the paints are all dried, stamp the sentiment from Strictly Sentimens 2 in Jet Black Archiva Ink.
• Now take a  Mini Chicken Wire Reversed stencil and White Embossing Paste and apply it to all sides.
• Take your Barcode Stencil and White Embossing Paste and apply it to the back side, add your signature.
• Paint a bird from Vintage Wood Birds with Dylusions Melted Chocolate Spray, then add little bits of Luminarte Twinkling H20 Ginger Peach.

Peace (CAS Mixed Media)

Hello friends! Today, I want to show you a project I created for eclectic Paperie using a lot of fun products!
I called this project a CAS mixed media.

Here are the details:

• Make a card base from Ivory Cardstock. A2 size.
• Cut a piece of Patterned Paper from "Twelve days of Christmas" by Graphic 45, size 3.75" x 5".
• Use you Mini chicken wire reverse stencil and apply Metallic Gold and Snow cap  Dabber Acrylic Paints. Set aside to dry for a couple of minutes.(clean your stencil)
• Now, take the circle images from  "Strictly Sentiments 3" WPlus9 and stamp randomly on you patterned paper piece, here I use Broken China Distress, Barn Door Distress, Mustard Seed Distress, Olive Archival.
• Stamp sentiment in Jet Black archival.
• Spray Dylussions Melted Chocolate and Perfect Pearls Mist Sunflower Sparkle (I did it super gently and for a far distance), this will give your card a very nice shimmery look.
• Cut a strip piece, adhere it to panel and cover it with Glossy Accents, then add Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter.
• Add score tape to your back panel and adhere it to card base, then add Glossy Accents to small circles.
