Welcome to eclectic Paperie’s ePlay Challenge – Push Your Boundaries! We’re altering our challenges in 2014, creating one, month-long challenge, increasing the prize drawing, holding a design team blog hop, and including a product discount with each new challenge! Check out the details below:

This is what I created for this month's challenge "Altered Books". I have to confess I was a little bit intimidated by this challenge, but I am feeling much more confident now. I had to go to Goodwill and get a book "any book", I just wanted one with a hardcover, after walking around and getting intoxicated by the "smell" (sorry, I have asthma and the old books and I are not a good pair), I picked this book, I have no idea what it's about and after reading a little bit, I decided this book is for a project, I will start altering the pages and sharing them with you, I am super excited!!

- Pick a book, any book, I think a hardcover works better. This is the one I picked up.
- Remove the paper cover, add Gesso to the cover. My idea was just to paint the center part, I think I added a little bit too much, but I liked it. Set aside to let it dry. (It doesn't take too long).
- Pick a Petaloo Canvas flower and spray Art Anthology Sangria and then add Perfect Pearl Mists Sunflower Sparkle.
- Spray the cover (I just wanted to match the cover with the pretty flower), set aside to dry. After that, Add a couple of pieces of burlap.
- I dyed White Crinkle ribbon with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, scrunch it, then set aside to dry or use your heat gun. Add Copper Shimmer Twine to the ribbon, then glue the big flower.
- Stencil the upper part with Mini Gathered Flowers Stencil and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
- I added rub-ons from Tim Holtz Remnant Words set. I like the final look!
