Sweet 'n Sassy January Release Day 5: Majestic Monarchs Dies

Welcome to day 5 of our January feature Blog Hops!

Today we're featuring "Monarch Dies" set, this coordinates with Majestic Monarch Stamp Set

  • Die set includes 6 dies
  • Dies range from approximately 3/4" x 1" to approximately 2.25" x 2.75"
  • Dies coordinate with the Majestic Monarchs Clear Stamp Set
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Die set - $14.75
This is a mini canvas, size 3" x 3"! I enjoyed creating this little piece of mixed media. Actually, this mini canvas was a "bad piece" I made few months ago, I was getting ready to toss it, glad I didn't.

Here are the details:
  • Cover your canvas with a layer or two of gesso.
  • After it dried, paint it with Pool Acrylic Paint (Ranger), set aside to dry.
  • Stamp butterflies in Coffee and Sepia Archival ink.
  • Stencil your piece with gold and white paint, here I used Mini Chicken Wire stencil.
  • Add a piece of Adhesive Lace.
  • Die-cut butterflies, stamp coordinated butterflies in Coffee Archival Ink, stamp sayings from Vintage Seed Packet set in Sepia Archival Ink, then sponge butterflies with Distress Inks (Antique Linen,  Mustard Seed, Wild Honey).
  • Cover your butterflies with VersaMark Ink, and add at least 3 layers of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel), you are going to get a very nice glossy and smooth result. Love it!!
  • Add butterflies to canvas (I used my heat glue gun).
  • Stamp sentiment from "God is Bigger" set, cut sides, ink all edges and adhere it to canvas.

Check out some of the fabulous samples made by our talented DT in the thumbnails below.

Be sure to leave a comment of each of the blogs along your journey because we're giving away (5) $15 store credits (1 winner will be chosen from each of the 5 blog hops).

The deadline to comment for a chance to win is midnight EST Friday, January 17th. The list of winners will be announced on our website homepage by Monday, January, 20th.

Thanks so much for joining us!

On the other side, I created a big  mess in the craft room, oh well, nothing is perfect, right?

I recently ordered a couple of Luminarte Twinkling H2O and I love them!!  Love playing with new products!

Ok, let me tell you some of the products I used for this project and few details.

Top Dog Dies Guest Designer and a Giveaway!!

Hello friends! Today, I have excited news to share, I am a Guest Designer for Top Dog Dies!! I got pretty dies and I have used some of them to create this pretty easel card!

First, let me tell you a little bit about Top Dog Dies:
Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Sizzix, Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace Dies, a new line of intricate dies designed by U.K. designer Stephanie Weightman.

These are the dies I used for this project:
For my easel card, I followed the same rules as a regular square, you can see the tutorial HERE. I embossed the top and bottom pink hearts with Regal Damask Embossing Folder. All the heart edges pieces (pink, white and lace heart) were inked with Memento Luxe Love Letter, then I added then to the heart easel base.
I die-cut the hearts, arrow and I {heart} U pieces from Red cardstock, then added them to the panels. I covered the hearts and arrow with Star Dust Stickles, finally I made a triple bow with brown hemp twine and added a green ribbon flower.

Stay tuned because I am working on a very special project, coming soon, I promise.

To be eligible to enter the giveaway, all you have to do is to register on the Top Dog Dies Guest Deisgner Giveaway Page HERE You could also get extra entries by commenting here on my blog and following and liking these pages:

Set of cards

Hello friends!! Hope you all had a great New Year's celebration, I had a great one, nothing better than Skyped with my family in Peru! It was so nice, I laughed a lot, hope to go back there soon, but for now Skype is a great resource!!

Anyway, today I want to show you a set of 4"x4" cards I made using Latina Crafter stamps and dies. I got these sets some time ago, but until now I had the chance to use them so they are pretty new to me.

For this set I used Días de sol (Sunny Days) stamps and coordinated dies. I also used the set Construye tu casa (Build your house) to stamp the house, grass and tree. I drew and cut a cloud to use as a template, then using Tumbled Glass Distress ink, I sponged the edges.
All the images were colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. I am adding the markers used on every card.

So, let me show you the cards.
