Smip, Snip

Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing fine today.Well, My little daughter is sick, oh yeah again, I don't know how, she was fine 2 days ago, yesterday she started coughing and stuffy nose and last night she woke at midnight, poor little girl, we went to the bathroom (no details about that), after that she felt much better, I told her, if you need me, just let me know, thank God, she slept all night, I couldn't, I woke up every hour to be sure she was doing OK. This morning, she says she is not feeling good, (of course, she says, mommy no school today, LOL) I saw her few minutes ago bouncing like crazy, does it mean she is feeling better????

Anyway, I didn't have much inspiration today, I feel tired (you know why now) but I tried today's challenge on SCS anyway.
Today's challenge is to use "Scissors" I love scissors. You can do a lot of great stuff, 2 days ago I bought 3 pairs of scissors at Costco for only $9.99. They are 3 different sizes and the small one is perfect for paper piecing, just check it out, you are going to be happy and also it comes with a sharpener, cool ha?

I used the stamp from Boho Backgrounds, I stamped it 3 times using 3 different color, Chocolate Chip (base) Buckaroo Blue and Cranberry Crisp. I cut the blue around flower edges and the cranberry one is just the flowers. I used dimensionals to give it the pop uo look.
I also used scissor for my scallop circles, (I don't own a punch, so this one is very handy).
This is my creation:
Card Recipe:
Stamps: SU Boho Backgrounds, Say it with Typewrite by PLAID.

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you are having a great and a blessed day. Thanks everyone for widhing me get better soon. I really appreciate it. I am feeling a little better now. Last Friday I had my doctor's appoinment and I am using 2 inhalers now. I don't like that much since the only inhaler I had before I used to use it only when I was feeling really bad. Anyway, I am feeling a lot better now and in 3 weeks I need another check up.

Today, checking my e-mails found one comment posted by Leanne passing me an Award, how cool is that!! This is Arte y Pico Award. Thanks Leanne http://leanneallnatural.blogspot.com/

A Flowery Rainy Day

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a better day than me. I am having asthma problems, and everyday they are getting worst, short breath, pain, and using the inhaler more than usual, ahhhh I don't like that, tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment, I don't like that, but I need it.

Anyway, today's challenge at SCS was to use an acrylic item on your card. Hmmmm Acrylic item????? I was pretty sure I didn't have any, but checking my stuff I found a beautiful acrylic umbrella, now, where I can use it?? Yesterday, Tammi from Wish Rak group sent me the most beautiful Tilda (Magnolia Stamps) images, I don't know the name of it, but it has flowers on her hand, so I decided to add the umbrella there, LOL.

I colored my image with Colored Pencils "Sargent Arts". I've received some sweet comments about my coloring in other cards, thanks a lot, I used this colored pencils, nothing else, I usually color the borders first and them I blend it with another color. I colored in circles, so then you don't see the lines on your image.
I embossed the wings with Gold embossing powder.

Paper: SU Cutie Pie.

I made 2 cards (so far, I am planning to make more tonight).

Thank you card
Today I received the best surprise ever. A great lady I met online sent me 4 stamp sets (all retired) She used them, but goodness she took good care of them, they don't have any stains. I can't reveal her name because I promise not to do it, but I am deeply thankful. I used one of the set she sent me for this card.

I stamp my flower using one of the flowers from SU Flower Garden Stamp Set , I used SU Cranberry Ink, I colored the image with colored pencils, I sponged the White CS with Cranberry Crisp ink. My base card is SU Perfect Plum CS, I also used SU River Rock CS and K&Company DP Verbena Purple, Green & Brown Damask. The sentiment is from SU Vases in Vogue Stamp Set. My embellishments are: brads, Su ribbon, gold stickles.

All you need is Love

A little change and a TLC card

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I tried to post earlier, but I had few thing to do before I could sit down and put my ideas in order.
Yesterday I was checking my blog and I notice it looked really dark, so I decided to change my layout color, I think now looks a little bit better, I hope you like the way it looks now.

Ok, for today's challenge at SCS was to create a card stacking 2 o more layers of ribbon, simple ha.

Always .... in my heart
I folded my White Card stock, I used my SU Cranberry Crisp ink and distressed the borders. I cut a piece of Purely pomegranate CS and scored the borders ( I used my scissors). I cut another piece of DP (I don't know the company) and punched the corners using my SU Ticket corner punch.
I cut the heart from the SU Always Set (I got the image thru the Wish Rak group) and scored it too, I added 2 little Prima Flowers(I put some silver brad in the center) and some gold stickles.
I added some pink brad in every corner.
For my sentiment I cut in half the little Rectangle Scallop and I added the sentiment.
I cut a little bit on one side on my White CS to insert the ribbons. I used Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon and Pink Grosgrain Ribbon.
I hope you like it.

A Fish Story and challenge cards

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great Saturday, usually I don't post anything on Saturdays, but today I finished all my chores early so I decided to make some challenge cards.
Talking about chores, today I cleaned the fish tank and I moved the fish (Readdie Eddie is his name, why?? because he is red, LOL) into another container and he didn't like it at all. We looked really stressed out, well the other container was very small and he couldn't swim as usual.
Anyway, when we bought the fish 2 weeks ago (after our great Gappie died) the lady at the pet store told me don't change the water too often and when I change the water let it cool down a little bit before to put the fish back into the tank, so well I did that. Around 11 am I went to pick up a box to the store and when we came back home I didn't see the fish in the container, I said, OH MY!!! Where is the fish????? Yes, Reddie Eddie jumped out and was laying on the kitchen counter, David took the fish and put him in the tank, I was praying to see the fish swimming again (Rebecca cried a lot when Gappie died) anyway, we waited and waited and finally the fish started moving a little bit, then he started swimming really fast, looked like a Fast Forward scene, LOL, and then David told something really funny, he said: I think Reddie Eddie has brain damage, I said WHAT??????? He was very serious, I didn't know if he was teasing me or not.
Anyway, right now looks like the fish is fine, we will see what happens later, so far he didn't eat, maybe if he has a brain damage and I have to feed the fish????? LOL.

Well, back to business, I made 3 cards today. I enjoyed creating these cards. They are for some blog challenges. I hope you like them.

The challenge is to make a card using the sketch provided. I made 2 cards for this challenge, a Thank you card and a Baby card.

" Thank you card "
For this card I used SU Merci Stamp Set, I stamped it on White Card stock using Black Stazon Ink. I colored the image with Colored Pencils. I made some dots around the image using Gold Stickles.
I used 2 different tones of yellow card stock. One for the background and the other one for the scallop oval. For the oval I used my Coluzzle and then I used my edge scissors.
The sentiment is from SU Vases in Vogue Stamps Set (hostess & retired), the background paper in unknown (I got it long time ago and didn't have any company name)
The flowers are Prima flowers and I added some Yellow Rick rack.

I hope you like it.

" Baby Card "
I love this card, IRL is really pretty. I used not the convencional colors for a baby card, but I like this combo a lot. For this card I used the hippo from SU Pun Fun Stamp Set, I colored the hippo with colored pencils and then I added some stickles on the right corner. For the image background I used a square scallop (SU Pretty in pink CS). The base card is SU Certainly Celery CS, The background paper is unknown (oh well must have a company but I don't have the name) The pink grosgrain ribbon I got it at Walmart. I put some Prima flowers on the left corner and added a pink brad.
I used my sewing machine, my sewing skills are not the best, but I tried it.
I used some dimensionals for the sentiment and gold stickles for the corners.
I hope you like it.

Moralia's Weblog Sketch Challenge
In this case the sketch was provided too, you can check it out just clicking the link.
I made another baby card for this challenge.
" Baby Girl "
For this card I used SU Pretty in Pink CS, embossed white CS. I distressed the borders using SU Pretty in Pink Ink. The DP is Well Baby Girl Words from American Traditional Desings. My image is from Studio G Clear Stamps, I colored the image using colored pencils.
I used Satin Baby Maize Ribbon from Offray. My image has a Pretty in Pink Rectangle Scallop as a BG.
I used a couple of Prima Flowers in the rigth upper corner and a couple of clear rhinestones in the left bottom corner.
I hope you like it.

Cute Kittie Cat

The Cat's Pajamas Ladies have come up with a New Weekly Challenge. This time is Color Combination challenge using Bright Pink, Yellow, Black and White. Usually, I don't use these colors, but I decided to give it a try and actually they look pretty good together.
For my card I folded some yellow card stock and embossed some flowers as a background, I used the flower from "Vases in Vogue" set. I cut 3 squares in different sizes and put them together.

I used my white embossed powder over the bright pink card stock, I made a couple of circle punches and put some white ribbon.
At the corner of the main image I put a couple of felt flowers that I made and put some gold stickles (I love stickles)
I hope you like my card.
God bless

MFT Guest Designer Contest

My Favorite Thing is calling for a Guest Designer Contest for the month of May, so I have to give it a try.
This time the challenge was to create using a background stamp other than a background. I used SU Scatter Sunshine, I used my oval template and my Coluzzle to get the size I wanted.

I used my flower punch ( I got it at Target for $1.00) to get some flowers in orange and green.
I mounted and applied some gold stickle in the center. I put a couple of Prima flowers.
I used the "So Cute" sentiment from the Peek-A-Boo set, I passed some ribbon thru the swirly Hodgepodge Hardware.

I hope you like my card.
God bless

10 tiny toes

Last Tuesday I started cross stitching again!!!! and I am so glad I did it. I always like to challenge myself when I do cross stitch, I've been a cross stitcher since I remember and now Rebecca wants to do it too!!!, that is really cool, so far sometimes I let her put the needle thru, but she says that is dangerous because she is little, LOL, she is so funny.

Anyway, this piece of art is going to have a good owner, I can't mention the name just in case (he or she) reads this post.
This piece is not finished yet, I just wanted to show you how fast I have done this, I thought I would finish in a couple of months and maybe this is going to be finish tonight.
I hope you like it.

Inspired by a dress

Last Saturday I made a card inspired by a pretty dress my DD got for her birthday. Jessica (my niece) made this pretty ladybug dress and Rebecca is very excited about it, she wants to wear it already, but still too cold here.
Anyway, my card was very simple.

I hope you like it.
Materials I used for this card:
Card stock: Black, white and red.
Stamps: Ladybug from Studio G.
Embellishments: SU red ribbon, ladybug bottom, punch, gold stickles, Su dimensionals
