Gina K. Designs Inspiration Blog Hop Day 1

Hello my friends! Welcome to Gina K. Designs Inspiration Blog Hop Day 1. Today we have 4 wonderful sets to show you, they just were released last night, and now you are going to have lots of ideas on what to do with your new sets.

Stately Flowers: This set has beautiful "State Flowers". I can't wait to get the one from Washington State :)  For my card I used the Flower from Colorado State and I hope you like it.

Directions:
  • Make card base from Ivory Cardstock. A2 size.
  • Cut a couple of different Patterned Papers, distress and ink all edges and add stitches individually. Then add them to card base.
  • Stamp flower image on Watercolor Paper in Stazon Black Ink. Color image with Inktense Watercolor Pencils (love these pencils)
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil image with Labels 10 Nestabilities.
  • Stamp sentiment on Watercolor Paper in Stazon Black Ink. Die-cut, emboss and stencil it with Fancy Tags Shapeabilities.
  • Add image and sentiment to card base.
  • Add pearls and StarDust Stickles to glower.
  • Cover flower with Crystal Lacquer.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: Ivory (Gina K. Designs), Watercolor Paper (LSS)
  • Paper: Gypsy Sisters Collections (KaiserCraft)
  • Ink: Stazon Black, Old Paper Distress (Ranger), Inktense Watercolor Pencils (Derwent)
  • Embellishments: Pearls (GKD), StarDust Stickles (Ranger)
  • Accessories: Labels 10 Nestabilities, Fancy Tags Shapeabilities (Spellbinders), Scor-Tape, Pop dots, Paper Distresser (CTMH), Sewing machine.

Make a "State"ment: This set has the perfect sayings and it's the perfect addition to Stately Flowers set.

Directions:
  • Make card base from White Cardstock. A2 size.
  • Cut a panel from Sweet Corn CS (4" x 5.25"), add Patterned Paper panel and strip and add zig-zag stitches.
  • Tie on ribbon and add a brad. Secure bow with glue dot.
  • Add white doily paper piece to card.
  • Stamp sentiment on White CS, Die-cut piece with Circle Nestabilities. Mat this piece with a scallop circle from Sweet Corn CS. Adhere it to card.
  • Stamp butterflies on White CS in Barn Door Distress Ink, add Clear Embossing Powder and set to heat. Create a 3D butterfly and adhere it to card. Add mini pearls.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: White, Sweet Corn (Gina K. Designs)
  • Paper: Hometown Summer Collection (Pink Paislee)
  • Ink: Barn Door Distress, Walnut Stain Distress (Ranger)
  • Embellishments: Mini Pearls, Doily (GKD), Seam Binding Ribbon, Pearl Brad (American Crafts)
  • Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Glue dots, Scor-tape, Sewing machine.

Close Knit Friends Duo: I love the Vintage look of these card :) Makes me remember my grandma and her knitting basket :)

Directions:
  • Stamp image on White Cardstock. Color it with Copic Markers.
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil image with Fleur de Lis Square Dies.
  • Die-cut and emboss 2-piece of Sweet Corn CS using the biggest die from Fleur de Lis Squares Dies. Create a card using these 2 pieces.
  • Adhere a piece of Patterned Paper to front of card.
  • Adhere image.
  • Stamp sentiment on White CS in Vintage Photo Distress. Die-cut piece using Grommet Tags Shapeabilities.
  • Add silver brads to tag and adhere it to card with pop dots.
  • Add a couple of paper flowers.
Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: White, Sweet Corn (Gina K. Designs)
  • Paper: Nantucket Collection (Pink Paislee)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Vintage Photo Distress (Ranger)
  • Embellishments: Silver brads, Paper flowers.
  • Accessories: Square nestabilities, Fleur de Lis Square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Pop dots, Scor-tape.

Because of You Duo:

Directions:
  • Make card base from White cardstock. 5" square card.
  • Cut out  a panel from Silver CS and Patterned Paper. Add zig-zag stitches. Adhere it to card base.
  • Die-cut and emboss a piece of Silver CS with Scallop Circle Nestabilities.
  • Stamp image on White CS in Versamark Ink, add Black Embossing powder and heat it up.
  • Mat Scallop Circle and Circle together. Adhere it to card.
  • Add Red Rhinestones.
  • Make a double bow with bow-easy. Add a red paper flower and add it to card.
  • Inside: Cut a strip of patterned paper and adhere it to bottom part. Stamp sentiment on White CS in Memento Tuxedo Black. Die-cut and emboss sentiment using Fancy Tags Two Shapeabilities.


Card recipe:
  • Cardstock: White, Silver (Gina K. Designs)
  • Paper: Tie the knot (Making Memories)
  • Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
  • Embellishments:Red Rhinestones, Silver Seam Binding Ribbon, Red Paper flowers.
  • Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Fancy Tags Two Shapeabilities (Spellbinders), Scor-tape, Glue dots, Black Embossing powder (Ranger), Embossing heat gun, Sewing machine.

Christmas Fireplace Round Card

Hello my friends! I have another Christmas Card for you. This time I decided to use one of the Gina K. Designs Sets from last year, this set is "Very Merry Christmas" by Theresa Momber. Love the results, if you love to colors, this image is perfect for you!!
I have to confess that in addition of my Copic Markers I love, love, love the Inktense Watercolor Pencils, they are like ink on a pencil, the colors are very vibrant and you can add as much or little as you want. I have more images already colored and ready to become a card, so stay tuned!

 Directions:
  • Stamp image on Watercolor Paper in Black Stazin Ink.
  • Color image with Inktense Watercolor Pencils.
  • Die-cut and emboss image with Circle Nestabilities.
  • Die-cut and emboss a couple of pieces of Cranberry Tart CS using Circle Beaded Nestabilities. Score back piece and create a card.
  • Add image to from of your card,
  • Add a bow with Glue Dots.
  • Add Ruby Red Liquid Pearls to berries and StarDust Stickles to stockings.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: Cranberry Tart, Ivory (Gina K. Designs), Watercolor Paper (LSS)
  • Stamps: Very Merry Christmas (Gina K. Designs)
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Inktense Watercolor Pencils.

Merry Christmas Pocket Card

Hello my friends! Hope you are having a great day. I've been quiet, enjoying time with my family and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving!! which is one of my favorite American holidays.

For today, I have a card I made few days ago using the Pocket Card Tutorial from SCS.
This technique is really easy and super fun to make, you don't need an envelope for this.

The stamps I used are from the StampTV Kit "Wishing You Joy" by Gina K. Designs. I colored the snowman with Copic Markers. I added some Craft Crushed Glass for the snow. The Patterned Paper is "Season's Greetings" by Echo Park Paper.

CSS Blog Hop: Inspirational

Hello my friends!! It's time for another fun and inspirational hop from the CSS DT Alumni!! If you have arrived here from Cheri's blog you are at the right place, if not please start from StampTV, so you don't miss any wonderful creation.

This time our hop is an Inspiration Challenge. Carolina provided us this wonderful picture from Better Homes and Gardens and get inspired by the colors, the shapes, the prints, etc.


I got inspired by the Christmas theme and the colors White and Red. I created 2 projects for you, they are quite simple yet elegant.

Christmas Cardinal Card

Directions:
  • Die-cut a couple of pieces of Ivory CS using the biggest die from Label 8 Nestabilities. Score back piece about 1", add tape to create card.
  • Stamp Cardinal image on Watercolor Paper in Stazon Black Ink. Color image with Inktense Pencils.
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil image with Label 8 Nestabilities. Add Star dust Stickles and Ruby Red Liquid Pearls. Set aside to dry.
  • Stamp sentiment in Vintage Photo Distress. Adhere piece to card with pop dots.
  • Create a frame from Ivory CS using Fleur de Lis Motifs biggest die and Circle Nestabilities.
  • Adhere frame to card with small pop dots.
  • Create a bow with bow-easy and adhere it to card with glue dots.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: Ivory (Gina K. Designs), Watercolor paper (LSS)
  • Stamps: Winter Wings, Fanciful Tags (Gina K. Designs)
  • Ink: Black Stazon (Tsukineko), Vintage Photo Distress (Ranger), Inktense Pencils (Derwent) 
  • Embellishments: Red Ribbon, Star Dust Stickles, Ruby Red Liquid pearls (Ranger).
  • Accessories: Label 8 Nestabilities, Circle Nestabilities, Fleur de Lis Motis Shapeabilities (Spellbinders), Pop dots, glue dots, Sponges.

Poinsettia Ornament Christmas Card

Directions:
  • Die-cut and emboss a couple of pieces of White CS using Scallop Circle Nestabilities. Score 1 piece about 1" from top, adhere it to the other piece to create cards.
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil a Circle piece from White CS. Stamp sentiment. Create a loop with Red ribbon and adhere it to back of this piece. Adhere piece to card base with foam tape.
  • Stamp poinsettia flower on White CS, color them with Copic Markers. Cut piece out and adhere it to card with foam tape.
  • Add Gold Gala Glitz to each center flower and Crystal Lacquer.
  • Adhere image to card with Pop dots.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: White (Gina K. Designs)
  • Stamps: Poinsettia from "Holiday Basket" and sentiment from "My True Love Gave to me"
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Old Paper Distress (Ranger)
  • Embellishments: Red Ribbon (GKD), Gold Gala Glitz (Art Glitter).
  • Accessories: Scallop Circle Dies, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Pop dots, Crystal Lacquer, Scor-tape, Sponges.

Gina K. Designs DT Blog Hop: Gratitude

Welcome to another Gina K. Design Team blog hop. Today we're featuring cards with a Gratitude/Thank You theme to them. If you came from Donna's blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.

Here's what I came up with today. For my card I used 2 sets: The basket and sunflowers are from Holiday Basket and the sentiment is from Winter Wings

Directions:
  • Make card base from Ivory CS. 5" square.
  • Ink all edges. Make a panel from Ivory CS 4.75" square. Add a strip of embossed Ivory CS. Add zig-zag and straight stitches.
  • Adhere ribbon. Add panel to card base.
  • Stamp sentiment.
  • Stamp basket and sunflowers on White CS. Color them with Copic Markers. Cut them out.
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil a piece of Ivory CS using Label 1 Dies. Adhere piece to card with Large Pop Dots.
  • Adhere basket and sunflowers with pop dots.
  • Create a double bow with Bow-Easy and adhere it to card with glue dots.
  • Add Pearls to each corner.

Card Recipe:
  • Cardstock: White, Ivory (Gina K. Designs)
  • Stamps: Holiday Basket and Winter Wings (Gina K. Designs)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Vintage Photo Distress, Old Paper Distress (Ranger).

Thankful for you

Hello my friends, I am back!! Happy Veteran's Day!!!
I've been sick, after the Holiday Bazaar I started feeling weird and then BAM! sick, sick, sick, I've spent a lot of time doing nothing, just sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. Finally, two days ago I started feeling much better and I even cleaned my craft room and created a card for you.

Before getting sick I really wanted to play the Touch Twin Markers Challenge and I couldn't  until yesterday :) The colors for the challenge are so pretty!

  • Make card base from Ivory CS. 4.25 square card.
  • Cut a panel from Chocolate Brown CS and Patterned Paper. Mat together and add stitches.
  • Stamp fence and sentiment on White CS. Color image with markers.
  • Die-cut, emboss and stencil piece with Square Nestabilities. Adhere it to card.
  • Stamp pumpkins on White CS and color with Markers. Cut it out and adhere it to card. Add Crystal lacquer.
  • Add bow.

Wee Memories Challenge # 75 " Handmade Gifts, Tags and Boxes"

My project is a burlap wreath, it's not too difficult to make and it would be a wonderful present for a friend or relative or for you!

Cards That Care Blog Hop


Hello my friends!!! Today is a very especial day, my good friend Vera Yates is joining forces with the very talented Jennifer McGuire to collect cards for the elderly people.

We all love to make cards and I would love if you could send 1 or 20 or more to them so they can distribute to different Nursing Homes. You will bring a smile in those cute faces, guarantee!!

A few important details:

  • This card drive will be going on till November 31, 2011. We will need to receive your cards by November 31, 2011.
  •  Please make the cards for Christmas or Holiday Wishes. Anyone can send a card, your children, church group, scout troops, etc.
  • All cards need to have a message in it.  Please also sign your name and where you are from.  On the card envelope, write your name on the top left corner.  Also, please don't seal the envelope.
  • Please stick to just cards.
  • And please don't use any pins (safety reason).
