Just one flower

Hello everybody, I am back after 3 long days feeling tired as you can not believe. I couldn't create, I tried yesterday, but I gave up, my tiredness was stronger than me.
But today I am back, and I hope you like what I just made.
Today on SCS challenge LIMITED SUPPLIES was to create a card using one flower. Goodness I don't have big flowers stamps, actually I have only 3 small flowers and they are not the best flowers.
So, for my first card I used SASSY STEMS Set, I used only one flower, I don't own the set I received the images through the Wish Rak group, thank you ladies, you are amazing!!!! I watercolor the flowers with watercolor crayons Earth Element set, I used Garden Green, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust colors. I let them dry and I stamped my sentiment in white CS, I used You are my favorite from the VASES IN VOGUE Set.

I used my COLUZZLE to make the circles in my Groovy Guava CS.
Card Recipe: CS: SU Wild Wasabi, SU Groovy Guava, White, Stamp: SU Sassy Stem and Vases in Vogue, SU Watercolor crayons, Ribbon: SU Whisper White Grosgain, Stickles, SU dimensionals.

For my second card I used my little stamp from Hero Arts: A REAL BLUEBONNET. I think this stamp is pretty I haven't used it much. I went simple I think with this card. I just folded a piece of Lavender Lace CS and I stamped the flower around the big piece of green CS using purple ink. I used my COLUZZLE again, I tried ovals this time, I cut 2 in different sizes. I used dimensionals to give it a better look. I stamped the image in White CS using SU Mellow Moss Water-based dy ink, then in antother piece of White CS I stamped the same image using Purple Ink, then I cut every little piece of flower, I have very tiny scissor with a curve so it works really good. I used dimensionals to position the flowers. I put some gold stickles around the ovals.
I hope you like it.
Card Recipe: Stamp: Hero Arts A Real Bluebonnet, CS: SU Lavender Lace, SU Certainly Celery, White, Ink: SU Mellow Moss, Purple, Ribbon: SU Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant.

Happy Chickens and Joy Fold Card

Hi, I am back. I just finished my cards for today's Color Combination Challenge on SCS. I started early in the morning, but I had to clean house (yesterday I couldn't do it) and homeschool Rebecca, right now she is taking a nap so I think I can do this faster than when she is here trying to type too.
Anyway, today's CC was Basic Black, River Rock and Whisper White. Sadly I don't have any WW but instead I used just White.
My first card is just cute and funny. I received this image through the Wish Rak group so I tried it for this challenge. I watercolored the chickens, cut them and I put dimensionals to give them a better look.
I took a little bit of gold embossing pigment and I put it around the embossed CS, The picture doesn't show it much.
The flowers are adorables, I put 3 together (I won them in a contest, Thanks Tamara)
For my second card I used again the Embrace Life images. I got them from the Wish Rak group I don't have more :(, I think I will brake my piggy bank and buy the set)
I tried the Joy Fold Card , I found the tutorial on Beate's blog. I am trying different tutorials,
I always want to learn more.
I hope you like my cards.
God bless.

Some news

Hello everyone,
I have been pretty quiet here, I haven't stamped at all last weekend. Saturday I spent good time with my family. Yesterday, we went to church and to Red Robin for lunch. After that we went to Craft Warehouse and I got some nice Designer Paper for 0.15 and 0.20 piece, yessssss, they were 75% off .
Last night I cut a lot of felt and I created my own felt flowers. I cut more than 70 flowers in 4 different colors, I really want to use them for my cards.
Last 2 days I had cramps and no too much energy for anything. I promise I will come back tomorrow with a card to show you.
Ok, now good news. I had my doctor's appointment today I had the results for the CT Scan I had a week ago, it shows nothing wrong. Doctor is not sure why I still having the lump and the cause is unknown, but it is not malign.
Now, for a while I don't want to see more doctors, I need a break LOL, I've seen them to many times in just a couple of months.

I hope you had a great weekend and I'll come back tomorrow.

God bless you

Diamond Folded Card Tutorial.

I read the comments you left here about my diamond folded card ( I just named the card that way) and I decided to make a tutorial. First I want to thanks Jeanne Dillihaunt, who is my SU Demonstrator, for teaching me how to make this quick and easy card. I will try my best on this, I am not too good giving directions in Spanish so believe sometimes is a lot worst in English, any questions just send me an e-mail and I will answer your doubts.
So, here I start:
Materials I used:
  • 1 piece of 7.5" x 7.5" of DP.
  • 1 piece of coord. CS 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" ( for the back of your card)
  • 1 piece of CS 3 2/8" x 2 2/8 ( for the front of your card)
  • Embellishments (if you want)
  • Stamps (I used Baby Jesus is Born)

Fold your DP diagonally (DP facing up)

Turn your DP facing down and fold them vertically (both sides)

After that , your DP is going to look like this.

Turn your DP facing in, and put the folded lines together.

Press them together, it will look like this.

Then, fold the square in half, it will look like this.

Adhere the main piece of cardstock in the back, and the small in your front, You can decorate as you want.
I used for the back blue and light blue CS and for the front light blue, cream and blue.

After the decoration your card will look like this.

Your card when opened will look like this.

I hope you like and if you try it, leave a comment, I will love to see your creations.

Wishing you peace

Hello everyone, I've been absent for a couple of days, just spending some time with my family. My husband is feeling under the weather, so he was spending sometime on the computer (we have only 1, yesssss I want my own,LOL) I played with Rebecca and also we re-organized the playroom, even though it is a playroom, it was a big mess (I don't like mess in anyway), after that we played with her Thomas trail and train, yesss if you could see all the toys she has. Yesterday, we went to Target and daddy was checkin on the toy section all the new additions for her train set, anyway, we walk a lot and after that she got so tired we came back home and she went direct to bed.

Ok, talking about bussines, I made a card today, yahoo!!!!! It was for today's Color Combination Challenge on SCS, using Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence and Pumpkin Pie.

I cut a pice of Orchid Opulence 5.5" x 6.5" and folded in half. My piece of Certainly Celery is 4"x5 1/4". I just put on top of the back folded Orchid opulence, I distressed the border and put one button on top.

My front card, I just cut the white CS, punched it and passed some Pumpkin Pie ribbon and green too. I cover the little hold with a purple flower.

I used watercolor crayons to color the image.
I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Today at SCS challenge was to create something using the FASHION theme. So i decides to use my baby dress template and try one in different color. Ok, it is a dress so what about pink??? yess, Pink is the winner.

I bought this paper so long ago when I was making cross stitch cards, you can see them in my SCS gallery. Those paper have been there shouting so loud, pick me, pick me, LOL, so I decided to use them and make them happy.

My baby dress is just as the other I created the other day, This time I used very thin satin pink ribbon (bought it at Walmart), white ribbon for the waist and some ribbon flower. I also used a pink ric rac for the neck shape.

I hope you like it.

Also, to match the dress I tried this cute baby shoes, made them totally in DP, the same as the dress but in a light color. The fake feathers are from my DD toy, she lest me use them. I added also a brad. I stamped a little sentiment at the front, I used the SO CUTE from Peek-A-Boo set and Welcome Baby from Inky Antics.

The small shoe 3' x 1 1/2 ', super small and kind of hard to fold. The big shoe is 4' x 2 1/4'.

I don't know why, but I am always making cards at the last minute, maybe thinking I will catch up later and then I am in a hurry to finish them all.
Anyway, yesterday finally finished them, but I was extremely tired to write anything here, so here you have my 2 entries.

My Love Card doesn't have any stamps, I just used the DP and trimmed it here and there, I think came up really good. I used purple CS, a couple of punches,, purple ribbon. This is 4.25 x 4.25.

My Angel Card, I used for this, white, burgundy and light blue, SU DP Cutie Pie, SU stamp, If the halo fits, white ribbon, red felt flower, dimensionals.

Basket

Last night, I tried Laura'a basket tutorial, you can find it here: http://wishyouwerehere-laura.blogspot.com/2008/02/basket-tutorial.html, it is easy to make, especially if you have good lighting, I don't, LOL, this room has very poor lighting, but I tried it anyway.
The waiving took me forever :(, but at the end I figured it out. I used some thin ribbon at the bottom (because my thin paper broke , ops my fault).
I used handmade paper , it is very thick and I think looks pretty.
I hope you like it.
God bless.

No stamping today

Today I didn't make any project (sad, sad and more sadness). Well, some of you know that a month and a half ago I found a lump in my right underarm, it was just 2 days before the new year, yes I received the 2008 not too happy. After a numerous of test and appoinments I had a new one, it looks that the people at the hospital know now, yes, today the secretary didn't ask my name, she just asked for my copayment and wait, oh well.
Today, the doctor told me that after a mammogram, X-rays, ultrasound they can't see any sign of malignency, but the lump still there. So next week I will have a Computerized Tomography (CT) doctor said this will be the last test to find out what is in there.
So, after that we went grocery shopping, came back home around 4 pm, then I started dinner, and my day was gone, I can't stamp at night, I don't have good ligthing in this room so I prefer to do during the day, I have 4 projects that I want to do tomorrow, I hope I have the time to finish them all.
I will appreciate your prayers. God bless you all

Forever Love Bag

Yesterday on "My Favorite Thing" forum was announced the chance to be a March Guest Designer, so I decided to give it a try. I started my project last night, but everybody was in bed and I didn't want to be so noisy, considering that my Craft room is next to DD bedroom, so I only scored my CS and wait until today to finish it.
I tried for this chance One Box Sheet tutorial , (found here): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/one_sheet_box/
I cut the DP for the front of my box, I used the polka dot SU DP Cerise (in white and red). The circle is a scrap from my previous card Boatloads of Love.
I embossed the forever heart in red ep on black CS as well as the little hearts embossed in gold and red.
I added son Rick Rack on 2 sides and a heart charm in the main image.
I hope you like it.
God bless

Recipe: Red and Black CS, SU DP Cerise, Stamp: Forever from Studio G, SU little heart (I don't know what set is from), silver heart charm, white rick rack, SU Satin Ribbon Purely Pomegranate, dimensionals, red and gold ep, embossing gun.

You float my Boat

One new day, one new challenge. I tried this time 2 challenges in 1. Today's challenge on SCS (Way to Use it) was to use "dots" any way possible, at the same time I tried February Card Contest Category #2 Happy Hearts on the Wish Rak Group (WRG), this card has to have a heart in any way (and of course something got through the group)
Searching the web I found a very interesting blog that you should go and check it out :http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stamping_thoughts/2008/02/shadow-box-vide.html, her name is Dawn and she has beautiful cards and teachniques too!!! I love hervideo tutorials, I have learned a lot more with them lately.
I chose the Shadow Box video, I had the image Boatloads of Love I received through the WRG so I decided it would be my perfect choice for this challenge combined with the polka dot DP from SU Cerise.
I had some pieces of felt from other projects, so I cut a flower and add a gold heart charm, I think looks very nice with it. I used 3 different colors of stickles to give it the bling bling look, LOL.
I hope you like it.
God bless

Card Recipe: CS: White, light blue and red, SU DP Cerise, Stamp: SU Boatloads of love, SU watercolor crayons, red felt flower, red heart, gold heart charm, stickles, dimensionals.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge

After I finished my Birthday Cards I decided to try today's challenge on SCS. I am doing my best to create something nice and pretty, but sometimes things work out perfect in my mind but not in the paper, today I think that is my case. I finished my card, but I don't know, I think something is missing in my card .

When I was making my card my DD was creating too, LOL, (every single piece of paper is for her) and then she decided to stop and start talking (OH MY) She asked me if I would tell her the Cinderella Story, so I started the story and suddenly..... she told me with a big surprise face, MOM I am the bride!!! I looked at her and said: OH and where is the groom? she looked at me VERY VERY SURPRISED and said: WHAT??? You mean the PRINCE???? LOL. I couldn't stop laughing. She believes 100% she is a Princess, and one day she will marry a Prince, We talked about that and I said, Becca, we just pretend you are a Princess, and her face turned sad and she said: Mommy I am a Princess. I didn't say much, I gave a her a kiss and said , YES, You are my Princess!!!!!

She was very happy!!!!! She is sweet and crazy, 100%

Ok, back with my card, here it is. I Hope you like it. Do you think it needs something else?
God bless.
Card Recipe:
CS: brown and pink; Magnolia DP, Stamp: My Favorite Things, SU Watercolor crayons, stickles, SU Satin Chocolate Chip Ribbon.

Today I finished all of my chores early, so I had more time to create. I had to make some birthday cards for my good friends in the Wish Rak Group, so if your birthday is this month and you are my fairy list, maybe you will receive one of these cards.
So here are my morning creations, LOL
I hope you like them.
Thanks for stopping by and God bless you.
